Work Study eligibility required.
The Museum Assistant position is responsible for the activities for guests. Explorium is a 501c3 nonprofit established in Denton, Texas and opened in 2018. Explorium provides opportunities for children and their families to learn and play together. We welcome all types of families and children of all ages, we host field trips, tours, camps, classes, birthday parties, and professional development. Operational hours are Tues.-Saturday. Occasional party booking will last until 8:00 P.M. on Fridays- Sundays. Working hours fluctuate within these parameters.
- Performs daily operational tasks of museum and provides information about regulations, facilities, and exhibits to visitors and callers.
- Opens/closes museum at designated hours.
- Greets/checks in visitors and manages payment.
- Facilitates and fosters engagement among visitors.
- Examines exhibit facilities and collection objects periodically and notifies museum professional personnel or governing body when need for repair or replacement is observed.
- Assist party participants with check in and ensure guests are satisfied with their visit.
- Attends all required training sessions and scheduled meetings.
- Responds quickly, efficiently, and professionally to any emergency situation; completes necessary paperwork and notifies the appropriate professional staff member.
- Assists with general maintenance/upkeep of all areas.
- Notifies the designated staff member of supplies needed.
- Enforces all rules and regulations promptly and professionally; notifies the designated staff on of inappropriate behavior of facility users.
