Summer 2023 Fashion Blog Content Creator Internship - Remote
Job Description: This role involves sourcing and writing blog content related to the fashion industry for Fashion Index. A successful candidate will have strong writing and researching skills, be self-motivated, articulate, and organized. The intern will have one on one working sessions with the founders,Tirsa Parriah and Marge Pietrera, and executive editor and will gain hands-on experience in running a startup web platform. The intern will research areas including ‘What New Fabrics and Techniques are Available for Designers.’ Your specific experience and interests will be highlighted in at least one post. Profiles of companies listed on Fashion Index may also be needed. This position will allow the student to create and publish content in a professional forum. We want to utilize your existing skill sets to expand our company while helping you grow in your interest field. This is a non-paid position. We can provide credit for university students. We require a minimum commitment of 3 months.
Responsibilities: Given a topic: Independently research • Fact Check • Create a well thought-out outline • Meet with founder and/or Executive Editor via Zoom • Write blog post with images sourced and cited • Work with management to come up with prospective topics for posts • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Working towards a Fashion, Marketing, and/or Merchandising degree. Other writing/research intensive majors will be considered • Must be good at asking questions and taking notes • Strong follow-thru • Must be able to take initiative on projects and work independently
Requirements:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Workspace
Knowledge in Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok content
Pay: unpaid
Job Duration: 12 weeks
Schedule: Minimum of three days a week, flexible on days; at least 10 hrs/week meeting the requirements of your college/university
Work Location: 100% Remote
Education: (In college) Majoring in Fashion, Marketing, and/or Merchandising.

Additional Requirements: • Ability to work 10 hours per week or as required by your school’s internship program (flexible on days) • Own laptop or PC • Highly organized • Reliable • Strong written and verbal communication • Ability to apply classroom knowledge to article topics • Awareness of current trends and fashion magazines including online • Strong knowledge and familiarity of Fashion and lifestyle influencers • Work effectively in a fast paced team environment • Outgoing, positive, honest, loyal, and dependable • Must be good at asking questions and taking notes • Strong follow-thru • Must be able to take initiative on projects and work independently • Prefer Proficiency with Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, In design; Excel & Google Drive required • Must be self-motivated, articulate, and organized.
The role is 100% remote and would be working directly with founders Tirsa Parrish and Marge Pietrera and/or the executive editor.
