Junior Art Director

Summary
The Art Director works directly with the Creative Director/Associate Creative Director on specified clients and assignments. The Art Director partners with fellow art directors as well as copywriters to concept and design compelling visual solutions for retail, digital, advertising and branded environments. The ideal candidate must be a conceptual thinker who can communicate their ideas with captivating visuals

Core Accountabilities
· Versatile in design that goes beyond the obvious, contributing unique solutions to each assignment.
· Capable of building final digital files for prepress department in accordance with established guidelines and procedures to ensure highest quality and most efficient processing of final art, be it for print and/or digital displays.
· Has an appreciation and understanding for brands and their consumer/shopper. Knows the importance of design and its influence on a shopper’s brand choices.
· Works within established timeframes and budgets in accordance with client expectations and Agency quality standards.
· Acts as a team player who partners effectively with the creative, account and planning departments.
· Sells their work internally and communicate why it works.
· Understands strategy and insights and how they inform and influence ideas. Able to interpret the creative assignment brief into design solutions.
· Understands key tenants of interactive design, including human-centered design, UX.
· Understands the differences in multi-platform design including POS, web-based design, mobile, rich media, interactive kiosk and more.
· Understands purposes of different digital platforms and how users / consumers use them.

Core Skills
· Advanced knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
· Knowledge of a 3D animation program (such as Cinema 4D or Maya), After Effects, and basic
knowledge of interactive media design
· Ability to interpret a brands social voice for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
· Able to lead creative and design for emerging digital platforms including social, mobile, and web by understanding the ways in which the mediums uniquely invite dialog with the consumer
· Intuitive thinker with the ability to translate client needs into visually compelling and impactful designs based on strategy and marketing objectives
· Strong knowledge and appreciation for graphic design, typography, and layout.
· Organizational skills
· Ability to organize and format information
· Sound business and professional ethics

Requirements
Years of Experience: 1-2 professional design experience
Education: Four-Year Degree
